Near the end of the occupation early this month, Keneshia N. Grant, an assistant professor of political science at Howard, asked her students if they wanted to discuss the protests occurring just yards away from where they were sitting. They were interested, Professor Grant said, but after 10 minutes they asked to return to a discussion on gentrification. Class was in order.
